Παραλίγο παράλυτος μετά από διακοπές στην Κύπρο (pics)

Ένας συνταξιούχος πυροσβέστης από τη Βρετανία μαθαίνει να περπατάει ξανά, μετά από μια σοβαρή ασθένεια που κόλλησε ενόσω βρισκόταν για διακοπές στην Κύπρο και συγκεκριμένα στα κατεχόμενα.

 

Σύμφωνα με τη Metro.uk, πρόκειται για τον 66χρονο Charles Jackson, ο οποίος παραλίγο να μείνει παράλυτος όταν μολύνθηκε με E.coli και καμπυλοβακτηρίδια κατά τη διάρκεια διακοπών στην Κύπρο τον Δεκέμβριο.

Σύμφωνα με το δημοσίευμα, τις πρώτες ημέρες των διακοπών με τη γυναίκα του στην Κύπρο υπέφερε από διάρροια και κόπωση. Όταν επέστρεψε στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, αφού τα συμπτώματα επέμεναν, επισκέφτηκε τον ιατρό του και μετά από εξετάσεις διαπιστώθηκε ότι είχε αναπτύξει τόσο καμπυλοβακτηρίδιο - την πιο κοινή αιτία από τροφική δηλητηρίαση- όσο και E.coli.

Εντούτοις, σύμφωνα πάντα με τη Metro.uk, τα πράγματα πήραν μια δραματική τροπή όταν άρχισε να παραλύει. Αφού επισκέφτηκε το νοσοκομείο, διαγνώστηκε με το σύνδρομο Guilliain-Barre, μια σπάνια πάθηση που επηρεάζει τα νευρά και προκαλεί παράλυση.

Αφού νοσηλεύθηκε για 10 εβδομάδες στο νοσοκομείο, πλέον εξετάζει νομικά μέτρα για να πάρει απαντήσεις για το πώς θα μπορούσαν να αποτραπούν όλα όσα έγιναν.

Μάλιστα, ανέφερε ότι «η μόνη μου ελπίδα είναι ότι ίσως αποτρέψει κι άλλους από το να υποφέρουν όπως εμένα».

Σύμφωνα πάντα με το δημοσίευμα, η μήνυση έγινε εναντίον της εταιρείας που παρέχει τα ταξιδιωτικά πακέτα στα κατεχόμενα.
